La Biennale di Venezia Poster

EUR 175

Size guide

This poster was part of our contribution to the Romanian Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale. We developed a series of artistic elements, including a cast coin, the pavilion’s facade, and this poster – each reflecting on the exhibition’s core theme: labour and leisure.

Designed as a research object, the poster visualises fragments of our design process. It explores the tensions between work and rest, production and pause – ideas central to Șerban Savu’s artistic work.

Printed on heavy Hahnemühle offset paper in black and metallic silver Pantone color, the poster features a circular cutout at the center, matching the size of the coin we created. A layer of a clear UV spot color traces the coin’s 360-degree rotation – visible only when the light hits it right.

The entire surface is covered by recurring symbols – a pattern derived from our visual research, referencing anthropological symbols, informal iconography, and temporal shifts.

This work is a result of a collaborative design process by Nana Esi & Sophie Keij at Atelier Brenda, Aaron David Neubauer, and Mari Lebanidze.
